KATRI (Korea Automobile Testing and Research Institute) has presented a draft of KMVSS (Korean Motor Vehicle Safety Standards) specifically focusing on the Automatically Commanded Steering Function (ACSF). The objective is to clarify the requirements and align them with UNR 79 Revision 4 amendments. Major provisions include the following:

  • ACSF of Category A: Add operating conditions for Remote Controlled Parking (RCP)
  • ACSF of Category B1: Increase the permissible range for maximum lateral acceleration control
  • ACSF of Category C: Add conditions for lane change initiation
  • Corrective Steering Function (CSF): Revise the warning signal requirements for CSF
  • Emergency Steering Function (ESF): Add a special provision for lateral offset exceeding the limit
  • Remote Control Manoeuvring (RCM): Permit the installation of RCM systems
  • Risk Mitigation Function (RMF): Permit the installation of RMF systems
